Grand Opening Nov. 2, 2014

Thousands attended the Nov. 2, 2014, celebration marking the 125th anniversary of statehood and the grand opening of the expanded North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. The State Museum tells the stories of North Dakota from its earliest geologic formation to contemporary times. Four new galleries tell the fascinating story of North Dakota: Adaptation Gallery: Geologic Time Innovation Gallery: Early Peoples Inspiration Gallery: Yesterday and Today Governors Gallery The Treehouse, located upstairs, is an exhibit especially for young children, introducing them to the museum world.
