Posted 4/30/23 (Sun)

The National History Day (NHD) state contest is a competition in which students in grades 6–12 dive deeply into the past by conducting research in libraries, archives, and museums. This year's NHD theme is ‘Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas.’ The State Archives has compiled subject guides pertaining to ND topics for the use of students competing in NHD. Over 70 subject guides have been created that include primary and secondary sources, useful search terms, publications, and journal articles housed at the State Archives. Winning projects using ND topics receive Foundation financial awards to assist with travel expenses of going to the national competition in Washington D.C.
